I've bought and watched the Tour of Duty series. It is the most realistic TV show about the Vietnam War it is right on the money. I grew up watching Tour of Duty with my mom, it was her favorite show & mine, when I was a kid. I just think you're absolutely awesome. I just purchased her Christmas gift, the complete set of Tour of Duty DVDs and am so excited to see her face when we watch it. My brother and I used to play Tour of Duty (dressed up in fatigues, the whole bit). He always played Zeke and I played LT. Anyway, hope you have an enjoyable holiday season, and just remember that there's a now-grown girl with very happy memories of you!!!

My mother and I were hooked on Tour Of Duty when it was on in the 80's. I always talked about the show and was thrilled to find the DVD's! My husband had never heard of the show and now he's a huge fan too. Such a well written show with an amazing cast. But you're the star-no one is better than Sarge!!!

Loved TOD and really found the characters easy to like and cheer for. You were great as Sarge. I was in high school when the show was on and all my friends and I used to talk about the show at lunch the day after the episode aired. Great memories and I catch the odd episode in reruns from time to time.

I am a big fan of yours and "Tour Of Duty". I hope your next movie with Tony Becker is a big hit. I will pay to see it. I just can't see you and Tony as "bad guys" in this movie after watching "Tour Of Duty" every Saturday Night.
In 1987, shortly after the Tour of Duty series started, I turned my grandfather on to the show. He was on a B-24 Liberator in Europe during WWII, flying over Germany and Italy. He loved the show and like me, never missed an episode. Some of my favorite times spent with him was watching Tour Of Duty.

It is currently showing here in the Uk on the FX channel, watch it every day even when it goes back to the pilot episode, i watch the series again =))
One sad thing though, that we never got to see a conclusion to the story and to see what happened to all of you that remained after ruiz, danny and johnson went home :(

I was an extra and was a stand in on the set of Heart Like a Wheel in Olympia,Wa and I was suppose to watch what you were doing,really didn't pay attention,then the stand in was called I went to the dragster I remembered you were sitting on the back rest of it so I did that.
Then I was getting nervous wondering if I'm doing this right,so I asked Loudly to the Director; "What Does A Stand In Do?".Oh my god I just knew I shouldn't have said that!The Director said; "Oh Forget It!There went my career!

Whoa I am so nervous to write here to you. Think you maybe hear this every day but I love to tell you that ToD was the best I've ever seen. You were great - fantastic as Zeke. I'd loved this character but more the person behind the name :)
I have to thank at this point Roz (Rozanne) for her kindness and friendship to me ( hope she knows who I am after many years I haven't heard from her)(Angy - Anja) She made the most important day in my live possible - she sent me a photo from you with a personal sign. I bought tons of photos from you - ToD photos. Even (copy) scripts with personal sign she sent to me.
So she made it possible that I could admire you for a long long time - and I also do so today.
When you are shooting the new film The Hunter in France maybe I can get a glimpse of you ;)
You can take this real or not but when you are in Europe I really would to invite you to my house. Hang out a day, show you my town :)

I think your work on Tour of Duty inspired a whole generation of soldiers. We watched it in the 80's and served in the 90's. Some of the best NCO's I knew said they were just doing it like Zeke.

I want to thank you for being at our reunion in Buffalo (I was the tall red haired guy who spoke with you during our picture session and you thanked me at breakfast on Sunday for talking with you. When Tour of Duty aired I tried not to miss an episode. As I told you, I was amazed to see our unit patch on your sleeve. Such a small unit. We weren’t the CAV or Big Red One or the Tropical Lightning (25th) but we did our job and took our hits (I took a bullet through my chest and out the back during Operation Juntion City on 25 Feb. 67).
I know that you were proud to attend the reunion and as a CHARGER, B/4/31, I was personally honored that you were there and spoke such heartfelt comments. If you ever get to Phoenix my wife and I would be honored if you would allow us to take you and your guest to dinner. You made the 196th proud...prouder! Thank you.

My husband (a Vietnam Vet) just discovered Tour of Duty and now we're both hooked on it thanks to you, the guys and Netfliks.
Most vets don't talk about the war because they feel the only ones who can understand what they went through had to go through it themselves. Now he'll actually open up to me about some of the things that happened while he was there.
There were several shows that gave me a glimpse of what it must have been like to be a short-timer. I began worrying for Johnson when he was about to go home. My husband told me you could smell fear when the soldiers first arrived and then again when they were about to go home.

I am watching Tour of Duty on DVD. It's the first time I am seeing it since it was on. I was a younger guy then of course. I always liked the show. Since that time, I attended the US Naval Academy and served in the military. I never had to go to war but I certainly understand the breadth of characters in the show. I can appreciate your work that much more.

Had the prividledge of watching you film Tour of Duty in Hawaii as a newly married Air Force wife. You and the cast were such a wonderful example of good actors and people. They do not make shows like that anymore or very few. I was a young boy when Tour of Duty was on. I grew up in rural Alabama where there wasn't much to do but romp around in the woods. Many hours we spent shooting at each other with paintball guns while fiercely staying in character of whichever T.O.D cast member we were supposed to be. "Zeke" was almost everyone's 1st pick and always involved some sort of competition and then a complex rotation to see who had the honor being the great SGT. Zeke Anderson in our next battle. You were a positive inspiration to our young impressionable minds. I recently picked up all 3 seasons of T.O.D on dvd and have enjoyed them as much as I did 20 years ago. While the show was well written and with the exception of Stan Foster's acting I thought every character was excellent but I couldn't imagine the show with ot you.

TOD was and still is quality tv. Sitting here watching repeats on FX. I think this is the first episode where you recruit Purcell and the others which i have never seen. Every1 looks so young. LT looks like he should still be in nappies.

Thanks for the great website! I remember trying to get an interview with you WAY back when TOD was on. I was a bit of a cherry of a writer then. ;) I did get Tony Becker and the interview was done on the set

Twenty years ago while living in the US I loved watching Tour of Duty. A week ago I was able to buy the DVD boxes (all three seasons) and I got my 17year old son hooked up to the show immediately. We experienced the same as Lynn and her husband below (with the music too.) I think that this is the ONLY serie I ever watched. It shows the tragic of the Vietnam War, but also there is a sense of humor and especially comradeship. We think, you actors just did a wonderful job, the faces sometimes tell so much. I can’t believe that you guys were not real soldiers. You fooled me!
Even my sons english had improved a lot since we started watching the serie. It is a good combination of everything and I loved your character, I think back then I had a crush on the Lt. I’m sorry to say, but I haven’t seen any other shows or movies of you. But I’m glad to thank you after all these years for all the hours of great entertainment. You are a fantastic actor!! THANK YOU!!

Just received the complete series ToD a week ago, feels like the tv hasn’t been turned off since then. I stayed home every week to watch every episode in my younger years. Even with all the High definition stuff going on, the series still look good, and got that real Vietnam dirt glance over it. I am experiencing the same old feelings I had as a young boy watching you as Zeke, one of the most believable and honourable characters of the set! Great website to honor a great guy! Keep it up. ;)

Terry, thanks to you and your whole crew for an absolutely BRILLIANT show. ToD used to air here late night and we could never understand why. It had no bad language, no gratuitous violence, and was so utterly riveting in its portrayal of the war in Vietnam and the guys you all played. I just rediscovered ToD on the cable FX channel and am delighted! I never did see the first few episodes so no idea how the series started, but am enjoying it all over again. Also, I commend you for taking on the St. Elsewhere role and the way you handled that. You are a fine actor, and I really miss you and Goldman and the rest of the gang. I wish they would remake ToD with you guys in the same roles...that would be beyond awesome and make for much better viewing than a lot of the stuff on TV these days. I definitely remember you growing up playing zeke on tour of duty. My twin sister and I use to “play army” and I was always you. After we grew up in 2003 I joined the army and my twin in 1999. I guess you were one of the inspirations for me wanting to be in the military when I got older. God Bless.

Hi Terry...Our daughter got us the boxed DVD set of Tour of Duty for Christmas. What a gift! We have used every spare minute to sit down and watch. Some days, we will watch 3 or 4 episodes. We were MAJOR fans when the Series was on and were thrilled to see it avialable on DVD. Best gift we ever received. Our only disappointment is the sucky music. They really should have paid for the rights to the REAL music of that era. Oh well, I do notice once I start watching, I forget about the music anyhow. Viet Nam was our era and my husband served in the Army. What memories that show brings back for him. It was GREAT show and I truly hope you are proud of the work you did on it. When I watch, I can never take my eyes off you. Not sure if it’s your acting or just the fact that you are sooooo gorgeous. Maybe both? :D Either way, it’s a fabulous Series and we are proud to own it. Everyone on it were wonderful, but you shined Baby, you shined. Thanks for the great memories. I bought my dad the complete season of tour of duty this past christmas as i kn ew he would be completely tickledt death. You see, he’s a vietnam vet and when i was a teenager we would watch this show together. you were both our favorite actor. I remember how he would always say how closely you guys got to capturing what really happen except with a lot less cursing lol. Well, the deal was (yes i made a deal over a christmas present hahaha) when he got done with them I got them, he finished all three seasons in 11 days. Im almost done with the first season now and its funny how I still remember everyone of them so far. just wanted to tell you thank you for the fond memories your acting has let me relive of my dad and me. :)

WE are the same age and I was in Vietnam in 1966. Tour of Duty is my favorite TV Series and Hawaii Five O. I truly believe you loved your work on TOD with you cast. My wife and I and our two boys lived and worked in Montego Bay, Jamaica and when we came back home to Florida we watched every episode of the 3 seasons. Now we have the complete set. I now work with the troops coming back from Iraq as a Mental Health Specialist at Ft. Stewart, Georgia. From my past experiences, I believe I can help some of our young boys like you did in TOD.
